Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about privacy, data, reminders, and sync.

Privacy & data
Where is my information stored?

On your phone or tablet. HealthWrangler does not send your records to Jacked Arts or to any third party, and we have no servers that hold your data.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, sign-in, or profile with us. Open the app and start adding information.

Does HealthWrangler work offline?

Yes. It makes no network requests during normal use. Your device may use the internet when you choose to do something that needs it, such as opening a patient-portal link, adding an event to Google Calendar, or syncing with iCloud.

Does the app have ads, analytics, or tracking?

No. There are no advertising or analytics tools and no crash-report uploads, and we do not collect advertising identifiers.

Is HealthWrangler HIPAA compliant?

HIPAA applies to healthcare providers, health plans, and their business associates. HealthWrangler is a personal organizer, and because Jacked Arts never receives or stores your information, there is nothing on our side to protect or disclose. Your data is protected by your device's passcode and security, so keep those on.

Using the app
Can I track more than one person?

Yes. Add a profile for each person in your Circle of Care. Appointments, notes, medications, vaccines, and providers can each be assigned to a person, and you can filter any list by person.

How do I share a person's records with another caregiver?

Open the person's profile in Circle of Care and tap Share Care Bundle (or the share icon at the top). HealthWrangler creates a file with that person's profile, appointments, notes, medications, vaccines, and providers, and you send it through your device's share sheet. Profile photos and files attached to notes are not included.

How do I import a Care Bundle, and will it overwrite my data?

It won't overwrite anything. Save the file you received somewhere you can open it, go to Circle of Care, and tap the download icon at the top right (or Import a Care Bundle if you have no profiles yet). Choose the file and you'll see a preview of what's new before anything is saved. You can then create a new profile or, if you already have a matching profile, update it. When updating, new records are added, and for records that exist on both devices the most recently edited version is kept. Nothing is deleted.

How do reminders work?

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Pick a default in Settings and override it on any appointment. If you don't receive them, check that notifications are allowed for HealthWrangler in your device settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them.

I deleted an appointment. Why is it still on my calendar?

When you add an appointment to your device calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook, that event belongs to the calendar app. HealthWrangler can't remove it for you, so delete it there as well.

What happens when I delete a tag that's in use?

HealthWrangler tells you how many appointments and notes use it. If you continue, the tag is removed from all of them.

How do I share a note that has an attachment?

When you share a note with attachments, you can choose Note Only or Note + Attachments. Attachments are sent one at a time through your device's share sheet.

Can I store my portal passwords?

No, and that's deliberate. HealthWrangler stores a portal's name, link, and your username. Use a password manager for passwords.

Backup, sync & moving devices
How do I move to a new phone?

Either turn on iCloud sync on both devices, or use Settings → Full Backup to save a backup file, move it to your new device (AirDrop, Files, email to yourself), and choose Restore.

How does iCloud sync work?

When you turn it on in Settings, HealthWrangler saves a single sync file to its folder in your own iCloud Drive and checks for newer versions from your other devices. iCloud sync is available on iPhone and iPad only, not on Android. It's optional, it's off by default, and it requires you to be signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled. Jacked Arts cannot see that file. It lives in your Apple account.

What if two devices change data at the same time?

HealthWrangler won't overwrite a newer sync file from another device. It will offer to bring in the newer data first so you don't lose changes. If you edit on two devices before they sync, the most recent save wins, so let one device sync before switching to the other.

Does iCloud sync include my attachments?

Sync includes your records and profile photos. Files attached to notes are stored on the device where you added them and are not part of the sync file, so keep a copy of important documents elsewhere.

What if I delete the app?

Everything stored in it is removed with it. If iCloud sync was on, the sync file stays in your iCloud Drive until you delete it. Make a full backup first if you want to keep your records.

How do I erase all my data?

Use Settings → Clear All Data. It removes your records, profile photos, and scheduled reminders, and turns off sync. Backups, exports, and any sync file you already created in iCloud Drive are separate files you can delete yourself in the Files app.

General
Which devices does it run on?

iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. iCloud sync is available on iPhone and iPad only; Android users can move data between devices with Full Backup and Restore.

Is HealthWrangler a medical device? Can I rely on it for dosing?

No. It's a personal organizer and its content is only as accurate as what you enter. Always confirm medications, doses, and instructions with your pharmacist or healthcare provider, and call your local emergency number in an emergency.

Does it cost anything?

HealthWrangler has no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases.

How do I report a problem or suggest a feature?

Email gteam@jackedarts.com. See the Support page for what to include.
